Growing up in northern Maine, Jen had a love of wildlife and nature that was second nature. Drawing, painting and sketching started at a very early age – and never stopped. "I saw amazing colors in nature and wildlife in action everywhere and I had to capture it" stated Jen. Drawing, painting, pottery, jewelry, poetry-writing and creative expression were a part of every day. Jen received the first recognition for her art in high school when her "bull moose" painting won first place in a state-wide State Department of Conservation art contest.

After attending college in Southern Maine, Jen’s quest for creative expression led her to a career in marketing and corporate relations. But, the need to make art occupied every spare moment as she painted for sidewalk art shows and collectors. Largely self-taught, she closely studied the work of artists who inspired her from the early masters Van Gogh, Picasso and Leger to modern painters including Alexandra Nechita, Jeff Ham, Robert Daughters and John Nieto. Inspired by their powerful art, Jen enjoyed pushing the traditional color and composition boundaries to create bold expressions of wildlife and nature as she saw it.

Twenty years after her first visit to Sedona, Jen and her husband moved from Boston to Sedona in late 2014. Inspired by the extraordinary wildlife of the region and the colors of the Southwest, oil painting and small art works can now take center stage. Jen enjoys her bold oil canvases but also enjoys making art available to anyone through her signature small art cards and prints. Jen stated, "I am thrilled and deeply honored to be a part of the Rowe Gallery family of artists. This is the opportunity of a life time for me and I am so grateful to be a part of the gallery".
