Bronze Wildlife Sculptor

Born in Arizona, Ken Rowe's life seems to have been shaped and forged by the rugged beauty, culture and history of his native land.

Influenced by drawing and painting with his mother, along with his love of the outdoors, Ken's first introduction to wildlife art was in the field of taxidermy. For 14 years, he and his wife, Monica, owned and operated a successful taxidermy studio during which time Ken submerged himself in a profession that demanded an intense study of anatomy and wildlife physiology. Ken believes this in-depth knowledge is an extremely important quality to possess as a wildlife artist.

In 1987, Ken began sculpting in bronze. He has been a full-time sculptor for more than 20 years. Ken has become known for his anatomy, composition and, most importantly, the expressive life evident in his pieces. The scale of his work ranges from small maquettes to large monuments. When viewing Ken's bronzes, one can readily see his personal history as well as the reverence he has for animals.

Ken has been honored with numerous awards, exhibits, museum shows, television appearances and articles in national publications. The Society of Animal Artists, Mountain Oyster Club, Western Artists of America and Sedona Arts Center have all recognized Ken for his achievements in sculpture.

Ken has resided in Sedona since 1995. He and Monica opened their first gallery, Rowe Fine Art Gallery, in Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village in 2010. Ken can often be found sculpting onsite and sharing his inspiration with art lovers.
