Dane Chinnock is an award-winning oil painter with an uncanny ability to capture the colors, textures, light and vistas of the Southwest. An avid hiker and backpacker, he often paints en plein air, employing palette knife to create flat edges, sharp lines and enticingly textured landscapes. Among other recognitions, in 2016 Dane received Southwest Art magazine’s Award of Excellence at the 42nd Annual Phippen Art Show and Sale, and was named an artist to watch by the magazine the following year.
