A Tribute to Larisa Aukon

We were blessed to have her as one of the artists in our Rowe Gallery family. We would also like to share with you a message from her family after her passing in August 2018:

Many of you knew Larisa through her amazing, colorful, and vibrant art. She dedicated her life to capturing the world around her through her unique lens. Her works embraced the beauty of the natural world, architecture, animals, and people, and she stayed true to her vision. She painted with passion and flair; never limiting herself, and relentlessly cultivating her art. In addition to painting, she enjoyed dancing, specifically Argentine Tango. She traveled, and painted, and taught, and lived life to the fullest.

Larisa will be immensely missed, but her spirit continues to shine through her beautiful work. Thank you to all her fans and friends for your love and support.

"I truly believe there is an inner "pulse" that runs through everything, mostly unseen but more often felt. I can think of no greater artistic inspiration than identifying this current and holding it in my heart long enough to translate it to canvas. I search for that perfect moment where everything falls into place inspirationally and technically. From that point on, I paint voraciously as if time is running out on me. "

Above all, my art is fueled by the beauty I am able to see in the world and my dedication to preserving that beauty so that others are able to see its power and potential as well. My greatest hope is that my art captures the imagination of the audience, forcing them to really pay attention to the world around them and to listen closely to what nature is whispering to us all. I truly believe there is an inner 'pulse' that runs through everything, mostly unseen but more often felt. I can think of no greater artistic inspiration than identifying this current and holding it in my heart long enough to translate it to canvas.
