Episode 19 - "Color Me Simba: It’s Patina Time!"

LIVE STREAM on New Day!

*Friday, October 9th at 9 A.M. Arizona Time

*Please note the airing day and time for this episode. The new season brings change as we move our live streams to a different schedule. Episode 19 will air Friday, but we haven't figured out a regular show day and time yet. We do know we'll continue to keep the fires burning and stun you with exciting episodes!

Thanks so much for your continued support of our award-winning family of artists! We are thrilled to keep bringing you wild stories and fresh updates from Rowe Fine Art Gallery. Ken Rowe's phenomenal "behind-the-scenes" team of artisans and TV production crew are busily preparing to film Erik Petersen, of The Bronze Age, as he applies the patina to “Vantage Point.” Your virtual seats will be waiting for you. Ken looks forward to responding to your questions and comments live.

Welcome back to the continuing saga on the making of “Vantage Point,“ Ken Rowe’s life-size bronze sculpture of Simba, the mountain lion. Episode 17 (which aired 2 weeks ago), did cause a few heart murmurs as the "behind-the-scenes" look at the welding together of the completed metal sections of Simba got hot and heavy! These final steps in the completion of a fine art bronze sculpture have rarely been seen outside of the foundry business and we are so glad we have been able to share some of these moments with you! It's amazing to discover how well put together Simba truly is!

In tomorrow’s episode, we will lay down the hammer and welding tools because it’s patina time! Tune in and learn with us as we get an education on the patina process. A patina is the outside color on a bronze achieved from the result of a chemical reaction with the copper in the bronze and nitrates, or acids, that are applied to the bronze. This literally changes the surface color of the bronze. With talent and technique varied chemicals (acids) are applied to the surface of the bronze, lending a magnificent range of color effects. Travel with us virtually as we return once again to The Bronze Age, studio of our versatile sculptor and master patina artist, Erik Petersen. Join us in the final phases and watch in awe as Erik performs his patina magic, bringing out the subdued color and glow of Simba – as if bringing art to life.

Please, don’t miss this… it’s patina time!
