“I recently worked with a cougar and her very young kittens; it was a rare and incredible opportunity to watch their interaction and behavior. Her solicitousness of each kitten was lovely to observe, and the shapes of their bodies interacting provided a wealth of interlocking designs. The title comes from lines in the poem ‘For My Mother,’ by May Sarton.”
